๐คฉ๐In our nursery house we found this cool flower: it belongs to the ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ต๐ผ๐ฟ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐น ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐ฑ (๐๐ถ๐ญ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐บ๐ญ๐ญ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ข๐น๐ช๐ญ๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ).โ

๐ดIt`s an epiphytic orchid that grows on the lower branches of rainforest trees in India, New Guinea and tropical North Queensland. Bulbophyllum is the largest genus in the orchid family, with more than 2000 species. โ

๐คฉ๐In onze kweekkas vonden we deze coole bloem: hij hoort bij de orchidee ๐๐ถ๐ญ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐บ๐ญ๐ญ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ข๐น๐ช๐ญ๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ. โ

๐ดHet is een epifytische soort die groeit op de lagere takken van regenwoudbomen in India, Nieuw-Guinea en tropisch Noord-Queensland. Bulbophyllum is trouwens ook het grootste geslacht in de orchideeรซnfamilie, met meer dan 2000 soorten.
๐คThe flowers of the beautiful ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ-๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐๐บ (๐๐ฆ๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐จ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ข๐ต๐ถ๐ฎ) are most fragrant at night. Their scent is similar to that of cinnamon, which inspired the name ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐น๐ฏ๐ผ๐น (`cinnamon bulb`). It`s native to the Western Cape. โ

๐ผAdmire its flowers in a few weeks in our desert greenhouse: it`s already showing promising buds!โ

๐พPolypodium comes from the Greek `poly` (many) and `podos` (feet). This refers to the fernโs creeping rhizome, which looks like it has many little feet as it spreads along rocks, old walls or mossy trees.โ

๐พPolypodium komt van het Griekse โpolyโ (veel) en โpodosโ (voeten). Dit verwijst naar de kruipende wortelstok van de varen, die eruitziet alsof hij veel kleine voetjes heeft. Zo verspreidt hij zich langs rotsen, oude muren of bemoste bomen.
